I am having gastric bypass surgery (open Roux-en-y) at GW hospital (with Dr. Afram) on December 19, 2013. I am keeping my fingers crossed that nothing comes up in the next few days. I am anxious to get this over with so I can start getting used to this new way of eating. Not sure how I am going to function without diet soda – but apparently other people seem to manage – so I guess there is hope for me.
I begin a clear liquid diet on Wednesday, December 18th…lots of eating to do in the next two days 🙂
My starting weight, I believe, will be 295. My goal is 180. According to most weight charts, at 5’4, I am supposed to weight a max of around 140. Sigh. So, technically I need to lose 155 pounds. I will be happy with 115! Hell, I would be happy with 100.
I am starting this blog because reading other people’s stories was a great help to me in making my decision. I promised myself that if I ever decided to do this, I would keep a blog, or journal, to talk about my experience. So….here it goes!
